Charapoana Island Eco- Lodge
Hotel Address: Charapoana Is, Marovo Lagoon
By Plane: From Honiara, visitors to Marovo Lagoon travel by light plane (50-70 minute flight) to Seghe on the south east tip of New Georgia. Visitors should be prepared for the fact that Seghe is a small airstrip with only a few private houses along the edge. Currently there is no wharf on the foreshore, and guests have to step down from the embankment to the boat.
Jae will take you by fibreglass boat approximately 12 km across the lagoon - standard transport in the area. Be prepared for the chance of getting a little wet from spray on the way to the island! Charges for return transfers are per person plus fuel costs which is currently approx $950 per boat up to 6 people.
By Boat: A fast boat departs Honiara 0700 on Sundays( weather dependant) and drop passengers at Seghe Village at lunchtime. Slower local passenger boats leave Honiara Sunday morning and arrive in the Lagoon approx 10pm the same night. Small boats come to meet the ship and take passengers to the surrounding villages.
