Sitting at the waters edge of the Marovo Lagoon provides a magnificent outlook over the lagoon. This resthouse was established in 2000 to facilitate community and regional meetings allowing government officers, health workers, conservation organisations and church groups to remain in the area whilst conducting their work. In 2006 the resthouse was open to visitors in the area. All income is collected for community projects such as the church.
Chubikopi Resthouse offers basic, clean facilities for travellers. Whilst there is a well set out kitchen available for self catering, meals can be prepared on application. Breakfasts cost SBD 60, lunch of local fish, rice and vegetables at SBD 70 and dinner SBD80. Seafood buffet is available if three or more guests are staying offering Chili Crab, Pepper Squid, Oysters, Curried Chicken and local vegetables. The food is excellent with lots of fresh local ingredients.
There is good phone coverage for people with Telekom sim phones, this also provides access for people who want to get Internet access with a dongle. The resthouse provides power for lighting and charging only at night.
Peter has activities available run by the community. These include dancers, weaving workshops, fishing, carving villages and more. Prices on application.
