Venti Family
Venti, his wife Nedi and son Haist have been looking after guests in this village stay accommodation for the past six years. They enjoy introducing visitors to their traditional life of fishing, gardening, cooking and customary stories. Your stay can include walks in the bush and paddling local canoes. In the evenings, you have the opportunity to join in a local singsong and watch traditional dances.Environment - conservation and education.
Venti and his family long ago realised their envornment was very special. They have made an effort to keep their region untouched following logging consessions along the Kolombangara coastline . Venti has taken a keen interest in birds and takes guests on walks to observe the endemic and rare specie. In this way, Venti nurtures environmental understanding through education. The knowledge that visitors retain from a visit to Hambere Village Stay can become part of a bigger international picture on conservation advocacy.
