KFPL Ringgi Guesthouse
Address: Ringgi Cove, Kolombangara Island, Gizo view mapThe KFPL Ringgi Guesthouse was originally established to accommodate visiting foresters to Kolombangara Island working with the reforestation project. Today, visitors to the area are invited to stay in air-conditioned comfort and use the Guesthouse as a base to visit some of the last remaining natural forests in the area with an amazing biodiversity. Bird enthusiasts and naturalists will be amazed at the variety of endemic species.
Guests are invited to use the self catering facilities or alternatively enjoy the meals prepared by the warden. Current charges are $18 breakfast, $24 Lunch and $36 for Dinner. Fruit and vegetables are available from the local communities and the general stores have basic items .
Although KFPL is not a tour company, they will assist guests in arranging activities such as picnicking on nearby islands, visiting their plantations and natural forests, bush walking, waterfalls and local rural communities of Kolombangara. Iriri Village is only 30 minutes away and the access point to walking up Mt Rano. For those interested in WW11 history, there are a number of sites that can be visited from Ringgi.
