Main area of focus in Caring for the Destination:
Our goal is to maintain a sustainable and viable forestry operation whilst protecting the environment.
Detailed description of the Caring for the Destination Initiative:
Kolombangara Forest Products Limited is the Solomon's largest sustainable forest company and the only supplier of Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified plantation logs and timber. KFPL is also applying a sustainable approach to harvesting natural forests
and working in partnership with the local communities to protect local biodiversity. The Guesthouse is open to both foresters and visitors interested in exploring the plantation as well as her soon to be opened sister lodge on the mountain- L5, which is situated in pristine forest below Mt Rano.
