Nelson Tokotoko moved to Gizo in the 1980s and originally managed the fuel depot in town. He recognised the need to develop a business that would keep all his family members in work and occupied. The original Nellos Villa was in the Gizo hillside, but when land became available close to the Business District, Nello quickly developed a new property with a more suitable location. Since his death, his grown children who are originally from Choisuel Island to the north of Gizo manage the property.
