The view is a surfers delight and close by are the dive sites offered by Solomon Dive Adventures .
The safe lagoon is suitable for swimming, even for children, or you can hop in a kayak and snorkel on the reef. Only two minutes paddle away, the clear water is a haven for tropical marine life and corals. Scuba diving can be arranged if you feel a little more adventurous.
Ropiko's chef uses home grown organic vegetables, fruits and fresh fish to prepare lots of wholesome dishes, cooked local style with a western flavour. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner are included in the tariff.
Bushwalking and village tours are available- Bushwalk the slopes of Mt. Mariu while your guide tells you tales of headhunting in the old days and shows you the medicinal uses of various trees and shrubs, as well as the reptiles and birds that inhabit these islands; or tour Biche village and see the stonecarvers at work. You will also be able to feed the large freshwater eels that live in the local streams.
For those interested in wartime wrecks ... take a stroll and see the Japanese fighter nearby, shot down in 1944 and still largely intact.
