Susan Kimaere who is Kiribati with her husband, Silvesitor from Guadalcanal built Coastal Village Homestay on family land. Currently they live with their 6 children in Honiara. Her Aunty, Mary Daisy is looking after their guests. She is also Kiribati and happy to share with visitors traditional Gilbertese customs.

The bungalow was built with labour from Mbabanga Island inhabitants, and will continue being staffed by local mainly withing the family. The Mbabanga people are fishermen and can guarrantee a good supply of fish and crayfish.
