This accommodation provider has taken action to address one or more issues (whether environmental, social or cultural) which will contribute positively to the long term viability of the destination and hence their site displays a Caring for the destination rating.
Main area of focus in Caring for the Destination:
The village accommodation provides employment opportunities for various tribe members living on the island.
Detailed description of the Caring for the Destination Initiative:
Construction and continued maintenance and service for the accommodation gives employment to the local tribe. Their rural setting does not offer many opportunities and fishermen can sell direct to guests for their meals fresh from the sea. The women are basket weavers and collect shells. They now have an opportunity to sell direct to their guests.
