One thing I would suggest and I did suggest this to the manager at Sunset lodge is that they need to be up front about all there costs. We expected to pay for the transport, accommodation and the volcano tour but they added about 2 or 3 extras fees on top of it. Extra for guides extra for village x 2. I don’t mind paying as long as I know up front what I’m paying for. Some people won’t take enough money with them and may get caught out on the island. Besides that we had a great time over there. Can’t wait to go back.

The name says it all - a beautiful setting with a great sunset. The accommodation isn't that flash - basic at best, although the bed was comfortable. We had booked downstairs self-contained rooms but were given upstairs shared facilities because of problems with the downstairs units being out of commission. All the staff were great and very hospitable, and anticipated our every need. A special mention for Emmanuel (resort manager) and John (tour guide) for their friendliness and hospitality.
A few minor improvements would go down really well, such as replacing the handbasins in the shared bathrooms.

Some hooks on the walls would be great. You bring clean clothes from home and the only place to put them at Savo Sunset Lodge is on the floor!

We have stayed at a few places about the Solomon's, Sunset lodge has alot to offer especially with activities to do once you are there.
Improvements are needed on accommodation for todays expectations and also range of meals on offer.
If these are done i feel the potential of the lodge is huge.
we will return in the near future with friends, some who have lived in Honiara along time but haven't realised what the location offers.
We did leave behind our silver coffee plunger and wish to get it back, my phone number is 742 1362
Many thanks Brent Balemi

Provided very poor transfer back to Honiara - we were forced to sit & wait (without water) for almost 2 hrs after transferring via motorised boat to Guadalcanal island. We were not informed of any adequate reason for delay other than our prepaid local transport being "on its way" "only 5 mins longer" etc etc
In the end we caught a local bus to Honiara which we paid for ourselves - hence we paid double for local transport to Honiara after waiting an excessive amount of time with little/no communication about the delay

We enjoyed our time here and it's such a beautiful location. I wouldn't stay here by myself though, not from a safety aspect but just because you have to make your own fun and it could be a bit lonely. Staff are ERY attentive, maybe a little much but their hearts are in the right place.
