It was a great stay at Hibiscus homestay.. I really appreciate the owners kindness and offer to help. Breakfast was great. Airport Service worked well (we only used for departure). The only negative thing is that this house is located on a hill - very stressful to walk to this house when it is extremely hot. Thanks once again for a great stay!

I cannot comment because I was not able to stay there.
On arrival with a taxi, owner was not there someone there put me through to her on the phone. It seems she was waiting for me at the airport (I was not aware she would be waiting at the airport) but missed me. She wanted to take me to another accommodation because Hibiscus was full - seems an existing guest prolonged her stay. I was not pleased and had to wait for her to come back to Hibiscus and lost valuable daylight time for sightseeing. To make amends, she took me to National museum (which I wanted to visit) and waited for me and then to the inn, which admittedly is in more central location than Hibiscus (and thus more convenient for me). She also looked at various rooms and chose the best one and said she would pay the difference. I paid what I would have paid Hibiscus.
I asked why she did not email me to inform me about the problem and that she would wait for me at the airport. It seems she did not have my contact because from what i understand the agency (i,e, you) does not give contact details of customers to accommodation providers.
Already I was unhappy that Solomon airlines had changed its schedule and then this experience with accommodation. Needless to say, I will not have a high opinion of Solomon islands as a tourist destination. I note that it is not a question of swindling or cheating tourists but just poor customer service.

Wendy picked us up from the airport without us even organising it. She even had the knack of picking us as her likely guests out of the crowd (she was not holding a sign, just looking at faces). The place is extremely clean and very well run. Rooms are even air-conditioned which is the only time we enjoyed this luxury during our Solomons travels. The place could do with a bit more of a personal touch or decoration in the rooms perhaps but we were still pleasantly surprised by our stay. Easy walk to Iron Bottom Sound water front and its restaurants.

I think the accommodation in Honiara is very expensive for poor service there needs to be more mid range hotels at sensible prices
